Classes, Conferences, & a Yurt

Hiiiiii! Decided since there are so many different things happening right now that I would break this post up into 3 sections to better interpret everything swirling in my brain! (With some videos at the end!)

School / Classes

I'm absorbing information like a sponge and my brain is exhausted at the end of most days. There is so much reading to do but it's much easier when you find the topics interesting, the delightful parts of a Masters versus any other schooling I've done. I have 3 classes this term (International Migration and Migration Management - Migration from Below - Quantitative Analytics) and I initially thought that was going to be a light load but 3 courses is what the program advises so I went with it - ha! it is not a light load. Although it isn't too overwhelming either. LSE has events almost every day on campus with speakers from different sectors presenting research, talking about books they've written, or conducting panels. I usually go to one or two of those events a week. By far my favorite was a speaker that discussed the Humanitarian Development Nexus, an interesting concept to read more about for anyone interested in humanitarian aid or international development.

I found my favorite study spot on campus this month as well:

Rotary Activities

Last weekend we had a Global Grant Scholars orientation where I met over 30 other scholars also studying in London. They have been some of my favorite people to get to know and hang out with. This weekend was also a Tri-District Conference in Eastbourne, a coastal town about 2 hours from London. The scholars were presented and I got a chance to mingle with Rotarians and Rotaract members - overall a very fun weekend.

Scroll through for a peak:

Life in London

1. Biked through the city and over Tower Bridge

2. Learned about Rugby with new friends

3. Tried matcha ice cream in Chinatown

4. Listened to acoustic musicians in a yurt
